Revisit: Sorocco House Lavender

I already talked about this rose before, but the older the plant gets the more fascinating it gets. I bought the rose at the Sacramento City Cemetery Open Garden rose sale in 2018. Sorocco House Lavender is a found rose, meaning that the identity is lost.
Most of the blooms last year were similar to these:

A few in the fall and early this spring were like this:
Lately they have been more like this:

I find it amazing how different the roses can be from one rose bush. Is it any wonder that a solid identification may never happen? It is believed to be very similar to Mme. Lombard, if not the same, but the only way to know a hundred percent would be genetic testing.

The end of the spring flush

The spring flush is more or less over. The spring only blooming roses are done until next spring. If they set hips they are working on developing them and will put on a show in the fall. The repeat bloomers are working on the next bloom cycle.
