The building of a rose garden

I started my rose garden here in Missouri in April of 2020. The roses I started with were Safrano, Monsieur Tillier, both Tea roses; Ellen Tofflemire, Marianne, Tuscany Superb, all Gallica roses;  and a rose that I had yet to see bloom coming from a cutting. The last rose struggled all summer and wound up dying due the February 2021 freeze. Over the course of the summer the rose total got added to by Duchesses be Brabant, a Tea rose; Abraham Darby, a David Austin English rose, Rise n Shine, a miniature rose that the rabbits ate to nothing and a rugosa rose, which the rabbits ate as well. I did add a few more roses in late fall, winter and spring with a few more in the future.
When I planted the original 10 or so roses I put them in the grass and just mowed around them. I did eventually add mulch to the area, along with a bench, and summer annuals. The below pictures are from when I first added the summer annuals  to the main rose garden, I have a few in a couple of areas elsewhere in the yard. The pictures are also of tonight with the roses blooming in it. I plan on updating this as my rose garden blooms and grows.
