  1. I have recently discovered a newfound love for roses. I am attempting to grow 15 new bushes on the side of my house that faces south. Could you be so kind as to inform me how I could remedy the pesky black spots that are beginning to consume my beautiful babies. Also could you tell me what is the best type of rose to survive in a war zone? And what would be your choice of rosebush to grow on the side of an active volcano? Thanks for your help and keep up the good work.

    1. How about Hawaii Volcanoes. It was found I believe on a volcano in Hawaii. If they black spot is too bad, you have two choices spray or get black spot resistant Rose's for your area. If it's not bad, I would just let it go. I am no spray myself, so only grow healthy Rose's for my area. Right rose, Right place is a great book to read.

  2. For the active volcano I would say any rose that can handle growing on a volcano is a winner. For the war zone I would find the thorniest rose such as mermaid and use it as a hedge. For the black spot you can spray fungicides if you so choose. A better way is to water in a way to keep as much moisture off the leaves as possible. Also clean fallen leaves up and dispose of them.
